Hello, my name is Herminia Alexandra Franco Parra, my
ID is 2977294 for 3D Animation, my instructor is Luisa Fernanda Pantoja Cabrera,
and this activity is Audio Evidence GA3-240202501-AA2-EV02.
I'm going to tell you about my professional career as
a webmaster and my future plans.
I have worked as a web designer since 1997. At that
time, no one had heard of web designers or webmasters. I was studying Systems
Engineering, and I would have become a great programmer if I hadn't decided to
pursue web design instead.
I have worked independently ever since, and I have had
to teach myself most of what I know in my career. I have constantly adapted to
technological changes. For example, when I started working, computers could
only handle 16 colors, whereas today, most modern monitors have been able to
display at least 256 colors, with many now supporting 16.7 million colors.
I have designed more than a hundred websites
throughout my 27-year career, but none have remained static for more than 3 to
5 years. Websites have needed constant updates to keep customers engaged.
I have always worked from home. I have had 24/7
internet access since 2000, and I believe I have evolved at the same pace. I
have programmed in PHP, HTML, and Java and have used all the Acrobat programs
since before Macromedia sold them. I still remember that my first web pages
were made with GIFs and 2D Flash videos, and that was quite a novelty. Then, in
2007, I began working with very popular content management systems (CMS) to
create and manage websites, which I have continued to use with great skill; Joomla
and WordPress being my favorites.
Some of my most important clients have been plastic
surgeons such as Osiris Arevalo, La Font, and the Colombian Society of Plastic
Surgery; companies like Indulatex, Folimp, Sciencee, and foreign companies such
as Ortotrauma from Brazil, as well as many more.
Now, I'm going to change my career and focus on working in 3D Animation, which is why I'm studying at SENA.
I'm going to make a short film. I'm going to learn
character design from the basics in Blender, Paint Study, and any other program
I need. I'm going to study hard and push myself to be one of the best, even
though I know I'm not a young girl.
I know my weaknesses and strengths very well. I know
it won't be easy, but I'm going to do it.
